Why offer workplace flu vaccinations?

In workplace environments, flu can spread rapidly - increasing absenteeism,
disrupting operations and placing pressure on remaining staff.

Workplace flu vaccination programmes help to reduce sick leave, protect vulnerable staff, and help maintain business continuity
while supporting the wider community.

Vaccinating early helps protect both your workforce and the communities they return home to.

When should flu vaccinations be
delivered?

Flu vaccinations are typically delivered ahead of winter (April to June in New Zealand) to
ensure protection before infection rates peak.

Immunity develops around two weeks after vaccination, so early rollout is recommended.

We encourage organisations to book early to secure preferred clinic dates.

Frequently asked
questions

How effective is the flu vaccine?

The flu vaccine significantly reduces the risk of serious illness and hospitalisation in healthy working adults.

Are workplace flu vaccinations mandatory?

Participation is voluntary unless required under specific industry or organisational policies.

How long does a workplace flu clinic take?

Vaccinations typically take only a few minutes per person. Clinics are scheduled to minimise operational disruption.

Can flu vaccinations be combined with other vaccines?

Yes. Where clinically appropriate, flu clinics can be delivered alongside other workplace immunisation programmes.

Why is annual flu vaccination recommended?

Flu strains change each year and immunity decreases over time. Annual vaccination ensures protection against the most current circulating strains.
