Concussion can occur after a knock or blow to the head, a fall, a sports collision or another impact to the body that affects the brain. A diagnosis of concussion is made by your GP, who can then refer you into the concussion service. Habit Health has a network of physiotherapists across Aotearoa delivering concussion support.

For other concussion treatments, you'll need a GP referral before we can begin treatment.

Habit Health’s Acute Concussion Clinic provides early support for sports players who have recently experienced a concussion. We can see you right away and will arrange for you to see a GP online so that we can begin treatment fast. There’s no need for a GP referral before we see you. 

Our team combines clinical guidance and physiotherapy to support you through each stage of recovery, from early assessment through to safe return to play.

Habit Health’s Standard Concussion Service provides coordinated support for people experiencing ongoing concussion symptoms following a GP referral. Your GP will refer you to us so we can begin a more structured rehabilitation approach tailored to your recovery.
