This month, we’re excited to introduce Arlene – one of our most experienced and passionate instructors.
With over 20 years in the industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the floor. Here’s a little insight into her journey and what Pilates means to her:
Pilates was just making its way into mainstream fitness when I started. I was excited to bring something traditionally reserved for studios into everyday gyms. Once I started my training, I was hooked! I’ve since blended it with personal sports conditioning for Aerobicsport athletes and one-on-one Pilates sessions.
Pilates incorporates matwork, Reformers, and small apparatus with a focus on evolved movement principles: whole-body movement, breathing, balanced muscle development, concentration, and rhythm. It’s more than just exercise—it’s intentional movement with purpose.
Everyone! It complements any lifestyle, from gym-goers to athletes to people just wanting better quality of life. Just one session a week can improve everything else you do.
Improved strength, mobility, coordination, efficient and flowing movement, self-awareness, confidence, and overall well-being. I’ve practiced for 20 years and still see its benefits every day.
That it’s just for women or that it’s easy. Pilates is for everyone, and some exercises are incredibly challenging! I tailor every session to the individual after a movement assessment to ensure the right balance and intensity.
It’s natural to feel nervous—everyone starts somewhere. Your first session will include a movement assessment, goal setting, and a personalised path forward. I’ll meet you exactly where you're at.
